We operate on the basis of IFS (International Food Standard) - the international uniform safety standard developed for all food producers and participants in the food chain. In particular, retailers producing under a hypermarket brand. IFS was developed in 2000 by representatives of the German retail trade. It is a commonly accepted standard throughout Western Europe (with the exception of the UK, where the BRC standard is applicable). IFS standard is comprised of the following elements:
- BRC, SQF, ISO 9000,
- Codex Alimentarius requirements,
- National laws,
- HACCP, GMP, GHP requirements,
- European Quality System,
These requirements show that the implementation of IFS is associated with both having a functioning HACCP system, and documenting the origin of raw materials as well as determining possible threats and develop methods of prevention.
